Rarely do we walk in a restaurant and instantly know that you want to come back, that was the case with Brewers Social though. We were invited to check out the newly refurbished location after it’s successful run as a pop-up in the same location.

The decor was art deco and eclectic with a strong Birmingham shout out. The seats were a mixture of leather couches, big comfy seats and standard chairs – plenty of choice and depending on when you visit plenty of options whether you are visiting for a catch up or meeting for dinner.

We were really glad to find out it is dog and children friendly too, it really ticked all our boxes!

And then there was the food…..

The food was delicious. It was so good that Laura couldn’t resist taking some home, but more on that later.

Brewers Social is a smokehouse with two smokers located on the roof. What that means is the food is freshly smoked and you can tell. Eating the ribs was like eating food fresh of the BBQ – smoky, succulent and melt in the mouth. The menu itself isn’t the biggest but it provides enough variety that you have plenty of choice, we went for:

  • Truffle Mac & Cheese
  • Half rack of Mud City Baby Back ribs with cajan fries
  • Hangover fries (spring onions, chilli, smoked turkey, pork belly and melted Monterrey cheese) it was a last minute addition the menu and a great one!
  • Chicken and Waffles

This was accompanied by a Blackberry Collins and French 75 cocktails and finished with a soft serve ice-cream. All were delicious, the only sad thing was that the rest of the desserts had been been finished by the time we eventually finished our meal. We had been too busy talking and enjoyed our baby free date night.

What we really liked about Brewers Social was the fact that they had different menus for different times of the day. It’s a reason to come back and we will definitely head back with Annabelle and Bisbee. We never miss an opportunity to try great food with the whole family.

There is a brunch menu that includes things like breakfast baps, properly brewed coffee and cakes. The all-day menu includes light bites, protein bowls, bar snacks, butties and home-smoked meat and pasties. The evening menu includes ribs, grilled lamb, Mac & cheese, Salads.

Brewers Social offers award winning ales and spirits, special edition brews and craft spirits, oh and this….

We would recommend checking our Brewers Social any time of the day. Located near Sainsbury’s, just up the road from The Plough and next to a car pack (if you don’t want to fight for a space on the road) it’s a great location and easy to get to. Prices are reasonable, portions sizes are decent and service is friendly, quick and welcoming.

The soft serve ice-cream was a great way to finish…..check out our Instagram Stories (theSmithStory) for highlights of our visit and to see how our ice-cream was delivered!

Oh and this was Laura created her carry out package of our left over food #toogoodtoleave
