I am trying to find my positivity today. Work is busy, life is busy, our house is busy and Annabelle is keeping us super busy – how are you?
Isn’t funny how people ask that and rarely listen for the response?! I have started actually replying with a diatribe of what’s happening in my life and it really confuses people. It’s as if they forget that they even asked how I am. To be honest I use it as a bit of therapy. Life is so busy and there is so much going around my head I fear if I don’t let it out occasionally i’ll explode.
Take today. I had a team training session in London. I was surviving on 5 hours sleep – that’s a different story – and any and every break I had questions fired at me but my team of 11. Sometimes the questions were easy, some were harder and some I had no clue about. In a condensed way today is the equivalent of my life. Everyday is like a mental assault course.
In life it is more about decisions, making decisions, agreeing decisions, talking about decisions. Rarely is there a situation that requires a simple yes or no.
We are off on holiday super soon and I am so excited to take a break from life right now. I want the only decision I make to be about where to eat dinner or the flavour of ice cream. I also can’t wait to be somewhere new and show Annabelle another part of the world.
Anyway that is why life feels busy.
What added to it was heading away for the weekend for our friends birthday. We went to Stratford Upon Avon and had a lovely time chilling out and wandering the town. Well chilling out as much as you can we a 14 month old. Sadly the time wasn’t perfect as I had been really sick on Thursday night and unable to eat all day. But I rallied and made it – although did head to bed at 10pm on Friday.
It did mean I was refreshed for Saturday and able to enjoy exploring. Have you been to Stratford Upon Avon? If not you should go! Here’s just a couple of reasons: Visit Stratford Upon Avon Post.
As well as recovering from my sickness we are also having an interesting time with Annabelle. We will be sure to update you soon – it’s a combination of teething, a leap and the end of breastfeeding. It has led to a very clingy, temperamental little girl who is not a fan of sleep or letting others sleep. Thank goodness it’s a phase. Well it better be a phase. We need it to be a phase!
Anyway back to the holiday – have you ever been to Zakynthos? Any must do’s? Any family friendly recommendations? We arranged it super last minute and don’t think we would be sad to spend it chilling by the pool but also wanted to ask in case we fancy a change of scenery?
